What are the responsibilities of the obstetrician-gynaecologist?
- Pregnancy planning and preconception care, including required testing;
- Pregnancy care: mother and fetus monitoring;
- Monitoring complicated and high-risk pregnancies;
- Treatment of pathological pregnancies, including miscarriages, ectopic pregnancy, and premature birth;
- Postpartum care, treating complications, ruptures and injuries;
- Treatment of inflammation and injury of the female reproductive system.
You should consult your obstetrician-gynecologist if:
– If you plan a pregnancy;
– In case of pregnancy signs and symptoms, such as missed period, nausea, changes in taste and food preferences, sore or swollen breasts;
– In case of pregnancy, to receive antenatal care, testing recommendations, and maternity leave medical certificate;
– In case of signs of miscarriage during pregnancy, or in case of miscarriage, with symptoms such as bleeding, abdominal pain, and cramps.
– In case of health issues during pregnancy, such as edema, headaches, dizziness, hot flashes, toxicosis;
– In the case of symptoms of pregnancy-related diseases, such as haemorrhoids, Thrush, or anemia;
– In case of infectious diseases during pregnancy, which can harm the health of the expectant mother or the fetus, conditions like flu, mumps, rubella, genital infections, etc.
– In case of a previous miscarriage.
